Basic Life Support (BLS)
The AHA BLS Provider course is a video-based, Instructor-led course, that teaches basic life support skills for application in both in-hospital and prehospital settings. This course does not include first aid topics such as treatment for bleeding, burns or broken bones.
This course is for healthcare providers such as physicians, nurses, dentists, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician’s assistants, residents or fellows, aides, medical or nursing assistants, police officers, and other allied health personnel. Medical or nursing students in training may also require BLS certification.
Course content includes:
- High-quality CPR, high performance teams
- 1 and 2 rescuers; CPR and AED for adult child and infant
- AED and Bag-mask techniques for adult, child and infant
- Rescue breathing for adult, child, and infant.
Required Student Materials
An updated AHA 2020 BLS provider manual is required for the instructor led class. You have the option to purchase the Provider Manual or eBook. We do not stock books for purchase, but we will provide links for purchase in your registration confirmation email. If you are unable to purchase a book, please contact us prior to your scheduled class.
