Frequently Asked Questions

Can't find an answer to your question? Email us at info@dcilearning.com

I am a health care provider. Is this the right course for me?

Provider courses are for people in the healthcare and medical fields, who are licensed, certified, or training to provide medical care to patients. People in this category need a completion card to meet a job or school requirement. Courses are offered in both traditional and blended learning formats.

Who is my card from and when can I expect to have it?

All courses are certified by the American Heart Association.  12-24 hours after course completion you should get your e-card via email from eCards@heart.org

How can I reschedule, get a refund, or cancel my class?

If you registered and paid for a class, but cannot make that date or time, and need to reschedule please notify us via email at info@dcilearning.com. An invoice for the $20 rescheduling fee will be sent to you via email for payment. Please pay the rescheduling fee within 72 hours (3 days), or your class will be considered missed, and you will forfeit your initial class payment. We will make every effort to accommodate you reschedule request based on class availability and class size.

Cancellations requested more than 72 hrs. prior to a scheduled class may receive a refund, less a $10 fee. There are no refunds for cancelling within 72 hrs. of a scheduled class or for no-shows. In these cases, you forfeit your payment.

I am having trouble with my online portion of my course. Who can I call?

For AHA eLearning technical assistance contact elearning.help@heart.org or call 1-888-AHA-8883 (1-888-242-8883) 8am-5pm EST Monday-Friday.

Do I need a book for my course?

The American Heart Association requires all students have access to the course materials (eBook or hard copy provider manual) before and after their respective course. For ACLS and PALS courses, students are expected to prepare and complete the Pre-course assessment before any 100% instructor led courses.

Please note BLS students are not expected to prepare before class.

Links to purchase both the eBook and provider manual will be in your registration confirmation email. If you are completing a blended course, you do not need a book.  Your online materials are available for you to review for 2 years.

Is there a test at the end of the course? What if I do not pass?

For a healthcare provider taking an instructor led course or HeartCode online BLS, ACLS or PALS class, a written test is required for course completion. You must pass the written exam with an 84% or better, followed by a skill check off with your instructor. I you do not pass the written test you will be given an opportunity to retake the test, at no additional cost. If you are unable to pass after the second attempt, you will have to register, re-enroll, and pay for a new class.

Do you offer any discounts?
